Polygon : 합의는 코스모스 IBC, 실행은 EVM의 시조새
갑자기 @billions_ntwk , @0xMiden 등등으로 핫해진 폴리곤에 대해 간단히 알고갑시다.
Story protocol, Berachain, Sei, Mitosis 등등..
합의는 Cosmos SDK를 사용한 cometbft 알고리즘을 사용하고, EVM호환성을 위해 실행 VM은 EVM을 사용하는 블록체인입니다.
이더리움은 기본적으로 DPoS가 아닌, 위임이 불가한 PoS 시스템이기 때문에 EVM을 호환 하면서도 DPoS를 구현하기 위한 가장 적절한 기술 스택이라고 할수 있죠.
이 구조의 시조새 격이 바로 @0xPolygon 입니다.
Polygon은 CosmosSDK로 만들어진 Heimdall 이라는 체인과, Geth의 포크인 Bor로 이루어진 체인입니다.
Bor에서 만들어진 EVM 블록에 대해 Heimdall의 밸리데이터들이 투표로 블록을 확정하는 것이죠.
(첨부한 그림에서는 마치 Polygon이 이더리움 L2인것처럼 표현되어 있지만, 폴리곤은 자체 합의를 가진 L1입니다.)
Polygon은 "EVM 실행 + Tendermint 합의" 하이브리드에서 나오는 장점들(DPoS, 빠른 최종성, 빠른 속도)를 가장 먼저 대규모로 선보인 블록체인 이라고 할수 있습니다.
(지금의 Story 등등의 Omni 포크 구조와는 조금 차이가 있긴 합니다.)
